BOTOX injections are applied to the facial muscles in the brow and mid-face for patients who hope to soften the appearance of lines and wrinkles in these areas nonsurgically. In addition, BOTOX is used as a preventive treatment, even if wrinkles have not yet formed. If you think you do not need preventive treatments, just ask yourself how often you are making facial expressions. All the time, right? BOTOX is a safe, noninvasive approach to preventing or smoothing your unwanted forehead wrinkles or noticeable furrows between your brows. It's also a great solution for Crow's feet around your eyes. If you have deeper lines, a filler product may be recommended. 

We may perform the injection within the same appointment as your initial consultation. You will be asked to make a few facial expressions using the upper face, like squinting, frowning, etc., to allow us to see where the injections are best placed. BOTOX injections are most commonly placed between the eyebrows, around the eyes (Crow's feet), and along the forehead. Your skin will be prepared, and BOTOX will be applied through a fine needle, followed by a cold compress. BOTOX injections typically take around 10 – 15 minutes, after which you can return to your usual routine almost immediately. We do advise that really strenuous exercise should be skipped for at least a day. The injected sections of your face can be slightly bruised, swollen, or red for a couple of days, but you should not develop any serious or lasting side effects. It often takes 5 – 7 days before the BOTOX visibly works, and then the results can last 3 – 4 months.
